Play Therapy is the systematic use of a theoretical model to establish an interpersonal process wherein trained Play Therapists use the therapeutic powers of play to help clients prevent or resolve psychosocial difficulties and achieve optimal growth and development. (a4pt.org)

Therapeutic Play is the intentional use of the therapeutic powers of play by professionals in the social, educational, rehabilitation, and health fields to help clients prevent or resolve psychosocial difficulties caused by temporary critical circumstances in the child's or family's life. Expressive arts therapy is an intermodal approach to psychotherapy and counseling in which art-making (visual arts, movement, drama, music, writing, etc.) promote change and wellbeing in the client, personal growth and transformation, overcoming difficulties, and healing.
